Native Bees of the PNW - fine art print
When I couldn’t find artwork showing native bees of the PNW, I had to make some, because I was curious about the bees outside our door. It turns out there are over 500 species of bees native to the Pacific Northwest—five hundred!! This artwork is a small and idiosyncratic sampling of that wild abundance.
One of my favorite parts of making a piece like this is the research and learning, before even setting paint to paper. With each print I include a little card with information about native bees, how incredible they are, and how we can help them.
This celebration of native bees in our backyard benefits habitat conservation organizations, including the Xerces Society for Invertebrate Conservation, with a portion of sales of this print donated each year.
This is an open edition, archival fine art print from an original watercolor and ink illustration. Printed on heavyweight, acid-free, lightly-textured paper, made locally by Chatwin Printing of Seattle, who specialize in fine art. Each print is signed by the artist, ready to frame. Ships rolled, in a sturdy mailing tube.
